BeDazzled Learn more about Artists at War: Exploring the Connections Between Art and Camouflage, which examines the questions surrounding the the intersections between art and military camouflage. The associated exhibit and public symposium were supported by funding from RICH.

Behind the Hedgerow Following the success of ON THE LAKE: Life and Love in a Distant Place, G. Wayne Miller and David Bettencourt are in pre-production of their next documentary, Behind the Hedgerow, about old-money Newport, told through the perspective of the late Eileen Gillespie Slocum, grand dame. A companion book will be published. Follow their progress through the project's blog.

Citizens All Project This RICH grantee blog includes information on project progress, participatory learning techniques (including technology integration) and maintaining a large-scale humanities collaborative. 

Elephants in Rhode Island RICH grantee Patti Cassidy shares the progress on her current documentary research project, Hunting Elephants in Rhode Island, the story of what happens when elephants and Rhode Islanders meet.

The Green Zone The Green Zone research project explores the history of Rhode Island’s wartime and hard-times gardens. Thanks to a grant from RICH, there will be a public forum on wartime gardens in spring 2009. Green Zone was created by Sarah Zurier, an amateur gardener and professional historian who is interested in public landscapes in Rhode Island and beyond.

On the Road to Freedom Risa Gilpin, RICH's program director, launched the On the Road to Freedom blog as part of the overall effort to highlight the many accomplishments and contributions made by individuals and organizations of African-American descent in Rhode Island. These stories include the history of the slave trade and emancipation; pacifism and military heroism; pioneering artists and the creation of nationally recognized cultural and educational institutions; the realization of the American Dream; and the legacy of racism and oppression.

RezaRitesRI.com RICH grantee Reza Clifton (who received funding from RICH for her Rhode 2 Africa project) promotes the voices of Rhode Island's ethnically, socially, and artistically diverse communities. She encourages public participation; helps promote events, programs, dialogue, and idea sharing; and conducts and shares interviews and other public programs. RezaRitesRi.com received a 2007 Metcalf Diversity in the Media award in the category of Technology for the New Millennium for the article "Jerusalem Women Speak, RI Woman Answers."
