Leslie Bostrom RYBPOG Rain, 2013. Acrylic and oil on canvas.

Exhibition: October 25 – November 27, 2019

Rhode Island State House, Lower Level Gallery

Showcasing the work of 20 exceptional artists from across New England, this curated exhibition opens in the Lower Gallery of the historic State House. The Rhode Island Peoples’ House is an unusual yet perfectly suited civic-minded site for the large-scale contemporary art project. Seen together, intrepid artists will show off their aesthetic leadership as cultivators of nature, stimulating and re-seeding our perceptions of life” in the urban through their imaging in art—particularly botanical nature’s fascinating guises. How might we strike sustainable ecological balance, they ask, as they look around inquisitively yet mindfully, and ever-creatively?
