New Roots Providence recently held a press conference to announce significant new funding from the Strengthening Communities Fund of the US Department of Health and Human Services. This funding allows New Roots to provide additional training, grants and technical assistance, with priority for organizations playing a pivotal role in the state's economic recovery.
In 2010, New Roots will give up to 39 Capacity Building Grants to individual organizations and partnerships of organizations working or serving communities in the state of Rhode Island.
Grants will be used for activities that strengthen organizations and increase their ability to serve people in need. Faith-based and community-based organizations are encouraged to apply.
