Warren Historical Society Premieres New Exhibition


New exhibit chronicles Warren's mill heritage.


Thursday, September 16th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. the Warren Preservation Society is celebrating the opening of The Warren Mill Project at the former Warren Manufacturing Mill. The exhibit includes an installation and artwork by Deborah Barnes and an array of the mill’s photographs, maps and artifacts and recorded oral histories from the 1800’s to the present. The reception on Thursday evening will feature a lecture by Rhode Island historian Richard Greenwood on the mill structures, the development of Warren’s industrial economy, and the effects of the mill’s decline and the industry’s departure. The exhibit which was funded in part by RICH will be open for viewing on September 17th and 18th before moving to Imago Gallery at 36 Market Street in Warren where it will run from September 28th through October 10th.
