Introduction to Marine Archaeology

Rhode Island Marine Archeology Project presents a class on what it takes to be a marine archaeologist.



When: Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 9am-4pm

Where: Newport - more information upon registration

Why and how archaeologists study submerged cultural materials, including shipwrecks; what underwater archaeologists do not do.  Legal and ethical issues and the different between the two; RI Marine Archaeology Project (RIMAP) activities.  This course is required for fieldwork and other volunteer participation.
