Get ready for Urban Bush Women’s February 2016 performance of a jazz dance fest entitled “Walking with ‘Trane” by celebrating the culture of the African diaspora. Join special guests from UBW for a meaningful conversation around the history of dance and more. Space is limited. Email annette@first-works.org to register.
*Presented as part of a 5-month “Urban Bush Women in Rhode Island: Art Activating Community” project funded by a grant from RI Council for the Humanities. The project will culminate in a performance of Urban Bush Women’s newest work, “Walking with ‘Trane,” inspired by the music of John Coltrane. Urban Bush Women is featured as part of FirstWorks’ Artistic Icons series.
