The 5th annual Providence Fringe Festival begins July 30th! It’s a week of 250 performing artists from across the country sharing their work in theatre, dance, visual arts, and everything in between.
And this year, for the first time ever, the whole thing will be covered by journalist and multi-media artist Jacob Berendes. Thanks to a grant from RICH, Jacob will write and distribute the Daily Fringe Zine, a newspaper of gossip, fashions, tidbits, minutia, marginalia, ephemera, and back row reportage.
Check out the festival schedule here: https://www.fringepvd.org/schedule–events.html And pick up a free copy of Jacob’s daily newspaper at all FringePVD locations! Or, read the paper while you’re having a drink at festival sponsor Troop in Olneyville.
Interested in hearing more about Jacob’s quest to fringe the fringe? Come hear him talk (and talk with him!) at the free opening night party on 7/30 at the Waterfire Arts Center, and/or at the free closing night party and awards ceremony on 8/4 at Troop.
