Lippitt’s Castles: Governor Charles W. Lippitt

A lecture by Dan Snydacker on Charles Lippitt, his role in the construction of the Rhode Island State House, and his summer house in Newport known as The Breakwater, or Lippitt’s Castle. Snydacker, former executive director of the Newport Historical Society and Interim Director of the Westerly Library and Wilcox Park, is writing a book on Robert H. Robertson, the architect of Lippitt’s Castle. He received a mini research grant from RICH to gather information.
