Mill Town Documentary Website Launch

May 7, 2016

Director and Producer Genevieve Belcher will be launching a website dedicated to her upcoming independent documentary film, “Mill Town”. The film will tell the story of West Warwick, RI; from its beginnings in colonial times to present day. “Mill Town” will take you on the historical journey of the little town that was built along the Pawtuxet River. As part of what is known as the “Pawtuxet Valley”, West Warwick played a major role in the Industrial Revolution, alongside its neighbors, Warwick and Coventry.

The website also features a companion web series of short topical videos, “Mill Town Minutes”, about the Industrial Revolution era in Kent County, Rhode Island. Visit MillTownDocumentary.org to learn about Kent County’s involvement in the Civil War, voting rights in the nineteenth century, the immigrants that contributed to the diversity of the area, and much more!

Mill Town Minutes is made possible in part through funding support from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, an independent state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Council seeds, supports, and strengthens public history, cultural heritage, civic education, and community engagement by and for all Rhode Islanders.
