Write Rhode Island, co-created by Goat Hill and School One, is a short fiction program and competition for RI students in grades 7-12. Free, creative writing classes and virtual visits with guest authors are offered throughout the fall, students submit their 2500 word stories in December 2020. Winners are announced in the Spring and receive a cash prize, are published, and participate in a statewide reading. The Write Rhode Island competition is open to all public, private, parochial, or home-school students throughout the Ocean State. Additional information and full competition guidelines can be found at www.school-one.org.

Write Rhode Island: The Short Story is a free, virtual creative writing class offered in partnership with schools, and as an after-school and Saturday program.  To learn more, contact Diana at School One. 401-331-2497/dianac@school-one.org and/or visit our website.

Eligible entries should be a short work of fiction incorporating Rhode Island as a theme and can be submitted November – December 2020.
