Unfortunate Ends
Local historian Bob Geake will discuss the evolution of the obituary in local papers and reveal how those death notices reflected the day-to-day dangers that people faced in early Rhode Island as well as the eccentric and unusual obituaries that found their way into print. Resilient Rhode Island Exhibit Opening
Shipwrecks! Fires! Hurricanes! Resilient Rhode Islanders have persevered through numerous natural and man-made disasters. Plan to visit the Center to see archival materials and artifacts representing just a few of these challenging events.
