America’s First Black Diva: Sissieretta Jones @ 150

2018 marks the 150th Anniversary of Sissiretta Jones. As America’s first Black opera superstar and a resident of Providence, Jones left an indelible mark on our city, the nation, and the world that is only now being recognized and appreciated. Stages of Freedom has organized a three day national celebration, June 7 – 9, in locations across Providence. Visit the event website for more details.
