1904 World’s Fair Tribute

On Sunday, July 13th Hearthside is proud to celebrate an important event in our nation’s history-the 1904 World’s Fair held in St. Louis. In a tribute to this grand Fair, Hearthside will sponsor a special exhibition and outdoor festival providing visitors with an understanding of the “Greatest World’s Fair ever” and all that it entailed, including Rhode Island’s important role in it, including Hearthside’s, which was used as the model for the Rhode Island State Building.

During the July 13th event, which runs from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., an extensive exhibit will be on display throughout the rooms at the 1810 Hearthside House, which will include photographic displays, interpretive panels, video presentation, and memorabilia. Self-guided tours throughout Hearthside will be available throughout the day as well as a re-creation of the carnival-type atmosphere that was found at the 1904 World’s Fair along “The Pike.”
