The 30th Annual African Summer Bash will take place on August 12, 2023, at Richardson Park (on Prairie Ave.) in Providence from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. This event is a collaborative effort of the African communities of Rhode Island and Oasis International -The African Center of Rhode Island.

This year you will be entertained by award winning DJ ASAP and Cultural Dance groups. TRADITIONAL AFRICAN DRUM by Sidy Maiga, Dominican Dance Group by Iris Yinette; Black Storyteller group, Igbo Ladies Dancers; Lydia Perez Yoruba Group- Puerto Rican Art. Oasis Youth Steppers; Black Story Tellers, RI Cape Verdean Heritage Dancers and other professional dancers and singers.
There will be a Providence Health Center Wellness Team onsite for the community, Neighborhood’s health and BlueCross Wellness Team providing health information, Butler Memories and aging, United Health Care Community Plan, and Tufts Health Plan will be providing health information. Come out and get your blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol checked for free. Getting these simple screenings can identify a problem allowing for early treatment and prevention of serious health problems.
