The Bristol Historical & Preservation Society proudly announces an after-hours viewing of “Lost Main Street: The Mom and Pop Businesses of Bristol’s Past”, now on display in our re-envisioned, fully accessible exhibit space. Thanks to funding from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, the exhibit has been updated to include a section on businesses lost during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This exhibit joins our permanent, self-guided exhibit on the history of our jail and our short-term exhibits on the history of rubber, the Mount Hope Bridge, and “Cookbooks and Cups”, a celebration of food in Bristol.
Take a walk through the diversity of Bristol’s historic businesses – There is something for everyone at the Society!
