America Too: It’s Our Health will begin with four Story Sharing Workshops on August 24 and 25 with, by, and for community members gathering to share their health and wellbeing experiences with professional playwrights and storytellers.
The stories shared at each of the workshops will be crafted into a series of short plays to be performed at Trinity Rep. The culminating live event will be held on Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 pm. All events are free and open to the public. Register Now on Eventbrite.
WORKSHOP 1
Join Sokeo Ros, Dancer, Storyteller, Performer, and Teacher for a Story to Stage Workshop
Date: Saturday, August 24 from 11:30am – 2:00pm
Location: YMCA Cranston, 1225 Park Ave, Cranston, RI 02910
This 2.5 hour workshop/session explores storytelling on its feet through the experimentation of conversation, improv and movement. There will be a series of movement exercises, spoken prompts, exploration of emotions and collaboration of the three. There is no writing involved in this workshop as everything will be recorded through video and notes. So please come ready to move, talk, feel and share with each other, our stories of community, culture, individual and the imaginative.
