Archiving 101 Workshop for Shall Not Be Denied

Thank you for joining the XIX: Shall Not Be Denied Initiative and carrying on with creativity and flexibility during the time of COVID-19. While programs related to the centennial of the 19th Amendment will be extended to March 2021, we’d like to take a moment to look back on what we’ve achieved together, the impact this work has made in our communities, and ensure time for reflection on and documentation of these important programs.

The work we’re doing now would not have been possible without the archiving and documentation efforts of those who came before us. We encourage all organizations that have participated in XIX: Shall Not Be Denied to take advantage of this opportunity. It will be valuable as you document the work of the past year, and could also help expand your organization’s capacity for future partnerships.

• Welcome remarks from Nellie M. Gorbea, Secretary of State
• Archive 101 Workshop led by Ashley Selima, State Archivist & Public Records Administrator will focus on the basics of archiving with a special focus on considerations when archiving digital projects in the age of a global pandemic.
• Closing remarks from Elizabeth Francis, Executive Director, Rhode Island Council for the Humanities
