As part of the Providence International Arts Festival, The Providence Athenaeum is proud to co-present with FirstWorks, “Art/Culture/Community: A Conversation” featuring internationally heralded Festival performers/humanitarian activists Angélique Kidjo and Oumou Sangaré along with local leaders in the arts, education, and community health. Join a conversation examining the varying roles played by the arts and cultural traditions in creating personal and communal life, particularly for girls and women, around the world today, and to consider the ways that arts leaders can function as cultural innovators.
