Event Navigation

Over time, some 1750,000 people went whaling. Most experienced the “Nantucket sleigh ride” only once because of the extreme and dangerous conditions, but as many 30% of the those working on whalers were men of color.

Join Martha’s Vineyard author Skip Finley in the Linden Place Carriage House as he leads us on this fascinating journey of discovery, based on his best-selling book “Whaling Captains of Color, America’s First Meritocracy.”

This event is free but space is limited so please make your reservations by clicking here or at the link below.
