Becoming Americans: Immigration, Citizenship & Civic Engagement

Providence’s population is primarily growing through immigration. What does it mean to become a US citizen? What are the barriers and responsibilities that come with citizenship? A facilitated discussion with staff and clients of Dorcas International, RI’s largest and longest-running legal immigration service non-profit. Join a conversation led by Kathleen Cloutier & Bruno Sukys of Dorcas International.

The event is part of a three-part Community Discussion Series presented by Lippitt House Museum in partnership with the Providence League of Women Voters. Held on Tuesdays, April 5, 12 and 19, the series puts a local perspective on voting-related issues during this election year. This series is part of the Pell Humanities Initiative in Rhode Island.
