Historic New England’s Casey Farm at 2325 Boston Neck Road in North Kingstown, RI will hold a free program by Lorén Spears, visiting educator from the Tomaquag Museum, on Saturday, June 8 from 1:00 to 2:00. First, The Tomaquag Museum will offer information and traditional crafts during the Coastal Growers Market which is open from 8:30 to 12:30 p.m. Free tours of the Casey Farm House, featuring a new exhibition in partnership with the Tomaquag Museum, will also be offered during the farmer’s market. The free program, Eastern Woodland Culture through Games, takes place after a short break following the market’s end.
The Narragansett people have a long and deep connection to the land we now know as Casey Farm. The Tomaquag Museum will connect people to these traditions by playing games. Lorén Spears will teach how to play Hubbub, Ring and Pin, the Hand Game, and the Moccasin Game.
