Lippitt House Museum, the Providence League of Women Voters, and the African Alliance of Rhode Island are partnering on two in-person community discussions about civic life for immigrants in Rhode Island. The 9th Annual Community Conversations Discussion Series takes place March 12 and 19 at the museum.
The March 12 program will explore the question: how does the immigration journey shape one’s participation in community life in Rhode Island?
Three immigrants share their stories of how they came to Rhode Island, what barriers they found to civic participation, how they have navigated being active in community life, and suggestions for community action.
