At the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor Offices, MIXfits: 21st Century Identities in Woonsocket partnered Riverzedge teens with humanities scholars and historians in original thinking, writing, and making, while they looked at identity formation in their city. Through readings, writings and field research, youth began to explore methods that illuminate their notions of their identities within their larger communities.
The results are an exhibition using text, bookmaking, printmaking, kinetic sculpture, and installations that explore identity, in nuanced, personal, and profound ways. Please join and enjoy the opening reception and community bookmaking workshop!
