Live video-performance at India Point Park
August 24th at Sunset (come by 7.30pm)

This event was originally scheduled for August 10, but was rescheduled to this date due to inclement weather.

Video projections by the Providence River and special participation from guest artists will culminate in an interdisciplinary live performance.

“Witnessing the ongoing destruction of natural ecosystems, the disregard for forms of life we coexist with, and disrespect for other living beings who seek survival in moving across the land, i am convinced that our ways of living across the Americas and beyond need to be thoroughly reexamined, and reinvented. I am compelled, as an artist living in this time, to engage with art as transformation. From a 29 feet sailboat (“Luna”) i have began to draw people by the water. Dreams become videos; journeys are drawn on new maps; and layer by layer poetic territory emerges as a collective narrative. Quikuchá is retrieved from pasts long gone, but also from a future where wisdoms ignored today are heard. Conjuring them unfolds the exercise of our discovery: what was, what is, and what is pulsing underneath.”

This event is free and open to the public.

Please arrive promptly if you’d like to find a comfortable place to watch the performance from. You are welcome to bring a personal folding chair and/or blanket to sit on.

India Point Park counts with 1.5 miles of trails that are wheelchair and stroller-friendly. While the entirety of these trails may not meet ADA standards, there are parking spots that do, and that are very close to the Community Boating Center (CBC), where the performance will take place. The CBC has a ramp leading to a balcony where people can also watch the performance from.
