RI Vets Speak! – CCRI

November 13, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

On November 13th at 2:00pm, the University of Rhode Island and Rhode Island Council for the Humanities present the third and final public veterans’ panel discussion focusing on Rhode Island veterans’ homecoming experiences. This symposium will feature an introduction by humanities scholars highlighting how homecoming has been described in history, literature and the media. The veteran panelists will then compare and contrast those narratives with their personal experiences. Audience members will be encouraged to participate in the discussion.

The goal of this project is encourage veterans, their families, and the public to engage in open dialogue about the challenges veterans experience as they return to civilian society

This ninety minute event is scheduled for Sunday, November 13th in the Bobby Hackett Auditorium at the Community College of Rhode Island’s Warwick campus

Additional support for this project has been provided by the Providence Public Library and the Community College of Rhode Island.

More information on this public discussion can be found on the project’s website https://www.rivetsspeak.weebly.com, email at rivetsspeak@gmail.com and our FaceBook page.
