We Are The Wind: Community Art Workshop

All are welcome to join Nina Elder as she closes out her NBS residency with an interactive and hands-on workshop, We Are The Wind. Along with NBS teacher naturalists, Nina will share her artistic and poetic insights into erosion, landscape change, flight, human impacts, and wind. Using experimental and found materials, participants will then design and create their own sculptural kites. Many of these sculptures will become the basis for Nina’s major multi-media installation, Sedimental, which visitors will be able to explore on the Norman Bird Sanctuary campus in the year ahead.

This workshop is family-friendly and recommended for kids aged 8 and older with a guardian. The workshop will be indoors and ADA accessible.

This event will take place at the Sanctuary’s Coastal Education Center, which is a seasonal building. Please dress accordingly.
