What Cheer Day

October 25, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

On Saturday, October 25, the John Brown House Museum comes to life for its 3rd annual What Cheer Day living history event. Think Plimoth Plantation with a dash of coffee milk!

When you knock at the door of John Brown Esq.’s mansion on the hill, you’ll step into the year 1800 in Providence!  You can interact with costumed interpreters decked out in handmade, historically accurate attire who will play the roles of the Brown family and their 18th-century neighbors and townspeople. Ask the maids for the latest Providence gossip and converse with the Browns as they take tea — and, of course, coffee.  Play 1800-era games on the lawn and sample desserts made from historic recipes.

Bring the whole family for a fun-filled day experiencing the sights, smells, and tastes of Rhode Island’s history!

Visit the What Cheer Day website for more details.
