What Does Tomboy Mean to You?: A Moderated Conversation

Performance artist and “gender outlaw,” Kate Bornstein ’69 will speak in conversation with Virginia Thomas AM’16 PhD’20, Postdoctoral Fellow at Rice University’s Center for the Study of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, and Janaya Kizzie, artist and the PPL’s Events and Programs Manager. Participants will be asked to move beyond stereotypes of tomboy to instead question what the idea of tomboy means to them. Discussion may focus on identity, art and activism, history and systems of oppression, and lived experience related to gender.
Event is free and open to the public, registration is required. A link to join the webinar will be emailed to all registrants a few days before the event.
