Through the United We Stand initiative, Rhode Island Humanities is developing a new Rhode Tour that will focus on LGBTQIA+ history in the state of Rhode Island.
Three Community Content Partners are collaborating with RI Humanities staff to create content for the new tour related to United We Stand’s broader themes of interpreting histories of violence and conflict, cross-cultural understanding, and stories of resilience. They will also develop and host public engagement activities in the fall that bring the Rhode Tour content off the screen and into communities across the state.
Our Community Content Partners are:
- Mev Miller (She/her): Instigator/Lesbrarian, Wanderground Lesbian Archive/Library, Cranston, RI
- Janaya Kizzie (They/she): Archivist, Artist, and Historian, East Providence
- Selene (They/him): Artist Organizer, Queer Reflection Lab, the lands of the Narragansett, Pokanoket, and Wampanoag Peoples
Welcome, Mev, Janaya, and Selene—we are delighted to partner with you on this important initiative!
