Mark your calendars! The Council has updated the application schedule for both major and mini grants in 2014-2015. While the grant application itself will remain the same, please note the updated application deadlines below. Grant workshops on strategies for applying to a Council grant will be held in September. The Major Grant Program for requests over $2,000 invites nonprofit organizations to apply for funding in support of Rhode Island-based public humanities projects beginning after April 1, 2015.
Major Grant Deadlines:
Register your Intent to Apply: October 1 – November 1, 2014 at 5:00pm
Submit Draft for Staff Review (optional): December 1, 2014 at 5:00pm
Final Applications Due: January 15, 2015 at 5:00pm
The Mini Grant Program invites individual researchers, nonprofit organizations, and schools to apply for support up to $2,000.*Award notifications will be made mid-March 2015 for projects starting after April 1, 2015.
The next Mini Grant application deadline will be September 1, 2014 at 5:00pm.
After September, the Council will move to a quarterly Mini Grant application deadline schedule, with the following deadlines:

February 1, 2015 at 5:00pm
May 1, 2015 at 5:00pm
August 1, 2015 at 5:00pm
*For both Major and Mini grants, deadlines that fall on weekends or holidays will be honored on the next business day.
