Everett Company Stage School

In the Granoff Center at Brown University, FREEDOM PROJECT interweaves personal stories with images, scenes, choreography, and multimedia projection to examine issues related to mass incarceration in America. The work focuses on the people behind the transformation of the “land of the free” into the most incarcerating country in the world, engaging audiences on a visceral, emotional, and intellectual level.

This Freedom Café will examine ongoing issues in our public schools, such as an over-reliance on testing, the disproportionate number of students of color who are suspended and expelled, and how these practices feed the school to prison pipeline.
