Call for Nominations Open: Celebration of the Humanities Awards

The Rhode Island Council for the Humanities is excited about the 2022 Celebration of the Humanities which will feature our signature awards as well as a keynote speaker. The program will be aired on YouTube and available to all. A small gathering with honorees and supporters is planned for July – more details to come. 

Now we need your help! The call for nominations for the 2022 Celebration of the Humanities Awards is open. Nominate Rhode Island leaders who connect the humanities and civic life in ways that build bridges through empathy and understanding.

Deadline: Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 5:00 pm EST.

TOM ROBERTS PRIZE FOR CREATIVE ACHIEVEMENT IN THE HUMANITIES

Recognizes an individual or organization whose work blends the wisdom and methods of the humanities in inventive, original, and imaginative ways with topics, disciplines, and formats not ordinarily associated with traditional humanities education.

INNOVATION IN THE HUMANITIES AWARD

Recognizes the innovative implementation of the humanities within an organization or a collaborative partnership between organizations to achieve a shared vision.

PUBLIC HUMANITIES SCHOLAR AWARD

Recognizes outstanding public humanities work in teaching and scholarship that advances the civic and cultural life of Rhode Island.
