Celebration of the Humanities: Call for Nominations

March 21, 2017 By RI Humanities

Submit your nominations to honor the work of extraordinary members of the public humanities community!

The Council invites YOU to submit nominations for the 2017 Celebration of the Humanities awards, to be presented in October 2017.

The 2017 Celebration will focus on how the humanities bring us together through stories that make connections not widen differences, conversations that bring people and communities closer, and affirmation of our shared civic values.

The deadline for submissions is 5:00pm on April 5, 2017.

Please use this form to submit your nominations for the following awards:

TOM ROBERTS PRIZE FOR CREATIVE ACHIEVEMENT IN THE HUMANITIES
Recognizes an individual or organization whose work blends the wisdom and methods of the humanities in inventive, original, and imaginative ways with topics, disciplines, and formats not ordinarily associated with traditional humanities education.

INNOVATION IN THE HUMANITIES AWARD
Recognizes the innovative implementation of the humanities within an organization to achieve a specific goal or a collaboration between organizations to achieve a shared vision.
PUBLIC HUMANITIES SCHOLAR AWARD

Recognizes outstanding public humanities work in teaching and scholarship that advances the civic and cultural life of Rhode Island.

For a list of past recipients, please visit: https://rihumanities.org/get-involved/celebrate/.

All nominations must be received by 5:00pm on April 5, 2017.
Access the nomination form at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/humanitiesawards2017 or by contacting Carole Ann Penney at caroleann@rihumanities.org or (401) 273-2250 x207.
