Dr. William Adams, the Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), joined U.S. Senator Jack Reed and staff and board members from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities to announce the Council’s Major Grants on Monday, April 13.
TD CHARITABLE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS KIDS READING ACROSS RHODE ISLAND
The Rhode Island Council for the Humanities has received a $12,602 grant from TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® to support Rhode Island Center for the Book’s Kids Reading Across Rhode Island, a summer reading initiative for students in grades 3-6 that encourages students across the state to read one particular book and engage in community discussions and programs.

Robin Kall of Reading with Robin featured the Rhode Island Center for the Book’s Reading Across Rhode Island program in partnership with the Council’s EnRICHment Opportunities in GoLocalProv. Robin serves as the chair of the May Breakfast, which will feature a keynote address by author Derek Miller on May 16 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet.
