Remembering RWU President Donald J. Farish, friend of the Humanities Council

July 12, 2018 By RI Humanities

July 12, 2018 – The Rhode Island Council for the Humanities expresses our condolences to Maia Farish, the Farish family, and the Roger Williams University community on the passing of President Donald J. Farish.

President Farish led the University to serve its students and the wider Bristol and Rhode Island community in purposeful ways. He advanced higher education, creating significant roles for universities to play in their communities and opening avenues for students to gain experience across disciplines and to apply these skills to improving the world.

Guided by President Farish’s commitment, the University and the RWU School of Law have been strong supporters of the Humanities Council, partnering with us on programs that have touched the lives of thousands of Rhode Islanders.

President Farish and his forward-thinking leadership will be missed in the Ocean State and in higher education across the nation.
