Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea joined staff and board members from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities and over 65 community, civic, and cultural leaders at the Rhode Island Historical Society’s Aldrich House in Providence to announce the Council’s Major Grants on Wednesday, April 20.

UPCOMING ESSAY IN PUBLIC CONFERENCE
University of Rhode Island, Brown University, and the New School University partner with the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities to present a free one-day conference on the future of research-based journalism and long-form writing, on March 18, 2016, at the University of Rhode Island Feinstein Providence Campus, 80 Washington Street, Providence, as part of a year-long series titled, “What is the 21st Century Essay?,” a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prizes.
